The Triad region also contains several airfields, including Piedmont Triad International Airport, which serves as a regional hub for FedEx and is the third busiest airport in North Carolina averaging 280 takeoffs and landings each day.

Gear Up | ASAP is a formal registered apprenticeship system administered by the U.S. Department of Labor. Through Gear Up, we work with local businesses to deliver an enthusiastic, experienced workforce who meets their specific needs.

Apprenticeship programs for students are sponsored by employers, employer groups, and trade associations. Employers provide on-the-job training while the student simultaneously completes classroom instruction. This allows the student to immediately apply the knowledge gained in the classroom to a real-world setting.
