Overview
Accelerate Greensboro connects minority-owned suppliers with companies in need of their services. In addition to creating opportunities for underrepresented groups, these relationships contribute to the economic vitality of our region.
After returning from our 2015 Intercity Visit to Chattanooga, Tennessee, a small group of attendees formed the minority business development task force for the purposes of focusing on growing the local, ethnic minority-owned businesses and expanding our region’s minority entrepreneurial community.
The program launched in 2017 and portfolio companies have since gained more than $11 million in increased revenue from their participation. Our vision for the accelerator is to make Greensboro the nation’s #1 destination for minority entrepreneurs to design and enhance their business. The purpose of Accelerate Greensboro is threefold:
- Help create jobs in our region
- Contribute to the economic vitality of our region and strengthen our local economy
- Create cultural diversity and economic inclusion

In partnership with the national organization Interise, Scale to Excel is for minority business owners who want to take their enterprises to the next level. Get the executive education, management know-how and business support system you need to grow your established small business through this intensive, cohort-based program.
