Salvation Army of Greensboro

December 11, 2019 by Holly West

About

Recognized throughout the world for its humanitarian work, thrift shops and red donation kettles, the Salvation Army is an evangelical Christian church. Its mission is to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ while helping others without discrimination.

How has the Chamber impacted your business?

“Our success is based on people knowing and understanding how we serve those in most need in our community and coming alongside to help us in that work. We are most successful when we have relationships with many individuals, businesses, corporations and foundations who help us through volunteering, donating, underwriting through grants and sponsorships and donating goods and items.

Our membership and involvement in the Chamber helps us to meet more people/businesses and tell our story to more which,
subsequently, involves more people in our mission to lift people out of inter-generational poverty.”

Did you know?

“We raise a great deal of our budget over the Christmas season and always need volunteers to help with bell ringing. We also work year-round through our Center of Hope transitional shelter, our four Boys & Girls Clubs, our School of Music & Arts, our stores and our church to impact lives. Volunteers and financial support is needed throughout the year!”

Carolina Cobras

July 23, 2019 by Holly West

Visit

1921 W. Gate City Blvd.

About

“We are a professional arena football team. Arena football is played indoors with the same elements of normal football, like passing, tackling and blocking. It’s just as hard-hitting and exciting as outdoor football, with twists that make the game unique!

The Carolina Cobras won the National Arena League championship last year in their very first year of competition, and we are now ready to defend that title!”

Why Greensboro?

“Greensboro has an outstanding facility in the Coliseum and a longstanding reputation as a sports town. There are hundreds of thousands of sports fans here!”

How has the Chamber impacted your business?

“The Chamber knows everybody we want to do business with, and they proactively make those introductions for us! We would have to hire many people to do for ourselves what they do for us.”

Did you know?

Chamber members can purchase $20 Cobras tickets for $10. Call the ticket line at 336-455-7232 and use the promo code CHAMBER.
