Has your chamber membership benefited/propelled your business?

“There are 2 areas where the GSO Chamber has really helped me. The first is simply having a support system for advice or guidance if I needed it. That was very important to me in my early years starting a new business. The second is the fantastic facilities I have available to me to host client meetings or internal meetings. We are a virtual company with a team of 30+ consultants in the US, CA and EU, but with a 1/4 of the team is based in NC, having the ability to meet in person at the GSO Chamber offices downtown for critical project meetings or sharing our final presentations in person with are clients have been extremely valuable.”

Why Greensboro ?

“I have been a greater Greensboro resident since 2001 and built my career and family here, so when I started this consulting business it made sense to build it in the community that I knew well and with other Greensboro and RTP based-collaborators in my industry.”

How are you doing business during the COVID-19 pandemic?

“Business during COVID-19 has been interesting, to say the least. Initially, it seemed like everything ground to a halt and we were wading in the doldrums. With business as usual out of the question, few were offering concrete plans on how to proceed.

Shut down was the phrase on most people’s minds. Fortunately, this was a temporary state. As businesses evaluated what needed to change, we have been able to offer useful guidance and solutions for manufacturers and distributors all over the country.

Most recently, we have experienced an increase in new customers as part of their strategy to invest in ERP solutions now, so they can scale as things resume.

In an effort to address the requirement of smaller businesses needing ERP that is up and running more quickly, we developed a rapid implementation methodology. It adapts smoothly to a remote workforce and utilizes low/no travel consulting for the duration of the project.

Our Managed Services practice has been heavily utilized by customers, as well. With that, we are providing outsourced staffing in key office positions to supplement reductions in workforce.”

Why Greensboro ?

“Greensboro has been a longstanding center for manufacturing and distribution. Many of our senior staff were directly employed in these industries prior to joining Encompass. The area was known and we already had many potential clients who knew us and knew we could provide value to their their businesses. The practice has grown significantly over the last 20 years, which reaffirms we made the right choice.

As Greensboro continues to develop, we grow alongside it by making stronger connections and new relationships within our community. The Chamber has played a big part in that process. Many of our staff are active beyond our business membership with the organization and participate as volunteers, community leaders, and ambassadors.”

Tackle Advocacy

August 6, 2020 by Nathan Park

Visit

101 S. Elm Street

About

“Helping students thrive in school is our passion. Our main job is to lend support and expertise to parents as they navigate the often confusing world of special education. All children deserve a Free and Appropriate Public Education (FAPE) and we will help ensure your child’s needs are being met.

Every child is unique and therefore Tackle Advocacy’s services are designed around each child and their needs. We attend IEP/504 meetings, review educational documents and help parents obtain the appropriate services for their child.

In addition, Tackle Advocacy provides one-on-one tutoring sessions. These sessions are designed for your child’s unique learning needs. Tackle Advocacy uses school records provided by parents as well as conducting additional educational testing to determine the specific individual learning needs of each student. Goals are set for each tutoring session to help students who have fallen behind or need additional support to better succeed in school. Tutors use a variety of modalities to deliver key information to ensure your child has a strong understanding of the skills presented.

Finally, as a Certified Mental Health First Aid instructor, Annie B. Trent works with parent organizations and schools to teach workshops that help adults learn how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental illnesses and substance use disorders in youth.”

How are you doing business during the COVID-19 pandemic?

“During this unprecedented time, the individual needs of each student simply cannot be met. It is important not to let our children fall behind.

From attending IEP/504 meetings or parent/teacher conferences to researching the educational options best for each child, Tackle Advocacy understands every child is unique and is offering services designed specifically to meet these individual needs. We want to help each child thrive and we can do this by reviewing IEP goals and 504 accommodations to ensure that they are appropriate and can be addressed while schools are using a blended learning model.

Tutoring is now available in person with appropriate safety measures or virtually using Zoom.”

Why Greensboro ?

“I am a lifelong resident of Greensboro and it is home. I am a product of the public school system, my three children attended public school in Greensboro, and I have taught in the school system here. As a student, parent, teacher and community volunteer, I firmly believe that children can grow and prosper in this community.”
