About

Our 45-acre historic textile campus brings apartments, restaurants, events, history, and innovation together under one roof. Initially built by the Cone brothers in 1898, Revolution Mill was the first flannel mill in the South. It helped establish Greensboro’s manufacturing tradition and the Triad’s prominence as the center of North Carolina manufacturing.

In 2012, Self-Help set out with a vision of restoring and revitalizing Revolution Mill. Revolution Mill is now a destination campus that includes commercial space, meeting & conference facilities, loft apartments, outdoor performance spaces, public art galleries, restaurants and coffee shops, greenway trails and more!

Today, Revolution Mill is home to three restaurants, the residents of 150 apartments, and over 90 businesses.

Why Greensboro?

In many ways Greensboro chose us, the property was the perfect place to continue Self-Help’s legacy of catalytic redevelopment. Self-Help’s record of redevelopment includes 1.3 million square feet of office, residential and retail space in 15 locations. Throughout these projects, we’ve created space for the entire communities to work, gather and live. Our work on historic buildings helps keep the heritage of downtown areas alive and supports urban renewal rather than urban removal.

About

Cheshire Center is a private pediatric speech therapy clinic based out of Greensboro, NC. Our licensed Speech-Language Pathologists cover a wide area of the central Piedmont area of NC and work with children with communication delays in their schools, daycares, homes and Head Starts.

Why did your company choose Greensboro? What makes Greensboro the perfect place for your business?

About

We are a 501c3 faith-based organization focusing on exposing and enriching the lives of at-risk and underserved youth, teens and adults in Guilford County. Our goal is to create a qualified & competitive workforce for the 4 million STEM and I.T. jobs available in the U.S. We provide food pantry and community feedings to help eradicate hunger in Greensboro.

Why Greensboro?

Greensboro is a perfect place for our organization. Every night, 1 in 5 children go hungry. Also, there are over 300,000 females in Guilford County and only 5% of minorities realize the importance of STEM and I.T. Our goal is to decrease the education inequity in these fields for the communities we serve.

Did you know?

We just received a 2nd round of funding from CFGG’s Women to Women Fund. They have so graciously awarded us $20,000 to continue our implementation of the “Phenomenal Women in STEM” initiative. On Nov 1st, eight more women have completed their introductory courses. On Jan 8th, eight women will be pursuing their A+ certification, four women will be taking Microsoft Office Suite (Word & Excel) courses and we have 20 people on our waiting list. We’ve also received recognition from Senator Thom Tillis’ office for this great initiative. Our main goal is to expose at-risk youth to STEM and robotics. Through our endeavors. We’ve developed a team and participated in the NC FIRST this month. Our team, the Nehemiah Builders, received two awards as a rookie team. CONGRATS kids.
