Habitat Greensboro works toward our vision of a world where everyone has a safe and affordable place to live. We believe that owning a home is a major milestone on the road to a family’s financial success, and a key component of our community’s economic stability.
Habitat Greensboro brings people together to build homes, communities, and hope. Working together, side-by-side, Habitat Greensboro staff and community volunteers help future homeowners build their future homes. Once the homes are complete, Habitat homeowners pay an affordable mortgage for their new home.
Through financial support, volunteering, or adding a voice to support affordable housing, everyone can help families achieve the strength, stability, and self-reliance they need to build better lives for themselves.
Greensboro is one of the most generous communities in our state. Our community recognizes the importance of coming together to build strength and stability. Through affordable housing, we can create lasting economic change.

While volunteer opportunities have been limited over the past year, Habitat Greensboro is excited to announce our Women Build 2021.
Women Build is a national initiative to engage women in the effort to provide safe and decent homes for families in need of affordable housing. Byrecruiting, educating, and inspiring women to build, they can transform lives in their communities.
This year’s Women Build partners with Tamieka and her two sons, Christian and Cameron, to build their future home. The event launched with a livestream on March 8th, International Women’s Day. After the event, teams of women joined together to raise $85,000 in funding to support the build. On June 12th, the first wall will be raised on Tamieka’s future home, and our Women Build teams will join us for build days throughout the build process. Once Tamieka’s home is complete, everyone will celebrate their success at the home’s dedication.
