About
“Founded in 1949, the Community Theatre of Greensboro is proud to be the oldest arts organization in Guilford County and in our 70th season!
What sets CTG apart? Our focus on reaching out to our entire community and concentrating on our mission: Bringing our diverse community together to learn about, experience and celebrate the joys of theatre. Our goal is to help everyone in our community share in the excitement of participating in theatre — as actors, backstage crew or audience members. We cherish diversity and non-traditional casting is a priority for us.
We have five main-stage productions and an annual production of The Wizard of Oz, which is seen by more than 10,000 people across the Triad each November!
CTG offers a wide variety of programs for Greensboro’s youth including production camps, after school theatre education, summer camps, Centerstage (our youth performing troupe that travels to Atlanta to compete nationally) and youth season productions. We also have an inclusive 2-week multi-age summer program that engages participants with special needs and varying abilities to work on self-expression, advocacy and communication skills through expressive theatre arts. And – with our generous financial aid program – we never turn anyone away for lack of funds.”
Why Greensboro?
“In 1949, our founders created what is now the Community Theatre of Greensboro after seeing a need for theatre in the area. We love calling this region home because there is such a strong love and appreciation for the arts.”
