Nick Piornack, developer of South Elm Street restaurants the WORX, Spice Cantina, and event space the Rail Yard Parking Lot, has joined Self-Help, the owner of Revolution Mill, as General Manager. Piornack will be responsible for forging strategic partnerships and increasing exposure for the 45-acre Revolution Mill District, positioning it as the place of choice to live, work and create in the Triad.
Prior to joining the Revolution Mill project team, Piornack served as a managing partner for a private development group, leading redevelopment efforts for a three-acre section of real estate in Greensboro’s South End. The unique entertainment complex features restaurants the WORX and Spice Cantina, the Rail Yard (an event space), and the catalyst to the South End the 170 space parking area. These development components opened in phases over in 2013 and 2014. The Rail Yard was host to the City Market which was a joint venture between Nick and his partners with Downtown Greensboro Inc.
The first flannel mill in the South, Revolution Mill helped establish Greensboro’s manufacturing tradition and the Triad’s prominence as the center of North Carolina manufacturing.
With a vision of restoring and revitalizing Revolution Mill, Self-Help set out to turn the historic property into a space for creative work and creative living.
