I grew up in Houston, Texas. I have a BS in Marine Biology from Texas A&M University and an M.Ed. in Counseling Psychology from the University of Houston. I’ve been a singer/actor in outdoor musicals, a 3rd Mate in the U.S. Merchant Marine, a Roustabout on oil rigs in the Gulf of Mexico, and for 21 years was a science teacher and administrator in private schools (The Canterbury School in Greensboro). I still teach, but for the past 19 years I’ve taught people how to buy and sell real estate in the Triad. I’ve been married for over three decades to a beautiful woman (inside and out), Sandy. We have two adult children, Matthew and Elisabeth. In addition to volunteering with Chamber, I enjoy working with Habitat for Humanity, Out of the Garden, Simple Gestures, and the Greensboro Science Center.
I enjoy volunteering as a scuba diver at the Greensboro Science Center. Working side-by-side with GSC staff and other volunteers, we maintain the various tanks and entertain (with special “dive shows”) the children and adult visitors. You haven’t lived until you have been swimming with a 6 foot shark or 12 inch penguin!

Why You Volunteer For The Chamber and How It Has Helped You Personally/Professionally:
I LOVE being an Ambassador with the Chamber! Knowing what is going on in the area, what new businesses are being established, and talking to the owners of businesses, new and old, have helped me to better serve my real estate clients and become a better citizen of Greensboro. The Chamber staff makes volunteering as an Ambassador so much fun.
